Oh Taste And Be: Future Creatives Art Exhibition

Project Proposal Package (1st–5th Grade Participants)

Program Overview

The Oh Taste And Be Youth Art Residency is a six-month creative development experience designed for students in 1st through 5th grade who show interest in art, creativity, storytelling, and hands-on learning. Through structured mentorship, creative exploration, and family-centered support, students develop a mini collection of 3–5 art pieces inspired by this year’s theme.

The residency concludes with a full exhibition, where student artists showcase their collection, participate in interviews, and celebrate their growth with family, mentors, and the community.

Program Objectives

- Provide students hands-on exposure to the creative process
- Teach artistic discipline, storytelling, and presentation skills
- Support children in building a themed collection of original artwork
- Establish strong relationships between families, mentors, and community partners
- Empower students to express themselves emotionally and creatively
- Encourage lifelong creativity through structure, mentorship, and fun

Participant Eligibility

- Students entering 1st through 5th grade
- Must be available for bi-weekly mentorship meetings
- Must commit to attending the final residency exhibition
- Interest in drawing, painting, crafting, or any creative medium

Residency Structure

Duration: 6 months
Meetings: Bi-weekly sessions with assigned mentors
Creation Requirement: Students will create 3 to 5 original art pieces aligned with this year’s theme
Showcase: Full public exhibition at the end of the program
